Summer Cascade Wisteria

15-40’ Tall at maturity. This cold hardy selection of the native American Wisteria blooms in late May to early June, primarily on old wood. The flower racemes are purple to lilac and lightly fragrant. The vine twines counter- clockwise. May have a few flowers later in the summer. Adaptable to a range of soils. Prefers a moist soil and a near neutral soil pH. Not as vigorous or prone to suckering as the Japanese or Chinese Wisteria.
